"To ensure that services and supports are provided in a respectful and timely manner to people affected by brain injury and to facilitate public education in all aspects of brain injury with an emphasis on strategies for prevention".
In 1993 the parents of a youth with a recently acquired brain injury founded BVBIA. Initially and for many years BVBIA was largely run by volunteers. We now operate as a non-profit society and are a registered charitable organization. Northern Health is our core funder and we apply for grants elsewhere to increase the programming and resources that we can make available to the community.
The Board of Directors oversees operations at BVBIA.
Membership in our association is free.
BVBIA employs three individuals who are responsible for our services.
